Bot and Employee Onboarding

Employee onboarding is an important part of the organization that gathers more attention as an organization scales and it needs to attract talent and bring them up to speed. Typically, it is disjointed as there are processes, communications and tools to coordinate to ensure a smooth landing for a new employee on the first day and first few months at month. It ranges from ensuring that there is a proper communication on the organization structure, culture and ways of working to readiness of tools to begin work.

What can Streamlit and Landbot.io do?

Firstly, Streamlit can be used to present the requirements in a single web page followed by the functionality of the Landbot chatbot that can demonstrate how it meets the requirements.

Next, Landbot.io can be used for a short period of 5 days after registering for free to test out the chatbot templates or to build a customized flow and actions triggers for this requirement. This has been achieved based on Landbot.io key functions. On top of that, it is possible to export the conversation flow as seen on the Landbot.io canvas as PNG so that it is clear how the chatbot flow is defined.

Key considerations 

  1. Employee onboarding can be managed on Excel and Powerpoint if the volume of onboarded employees is not high taking into account the cost of subscription.
  2. Landbot.io chatbot can be a feasible option for organizations that do not have Microsoft Teams and Slack.
  3. For organizations that have a full fledged HR systems like SAP Successfactors or Workday, it comes with its own Onboarding portal and there is no need to consider additional onboarding tool unless if it is not fully supported by existing applications.
  4. Besides evaluating the applications that offers employee onboarding, organizations would need to consider the level of automation/integration that needs to be set up to support onboarding. For instance, automating the user access and pre assigning training is essential. Otherwise, it would be a disjointed and manual process to enable user access for employees separately. 
  5. Ultimately, it comes down to the product roadmap of the organization that decides which is the best tool for employee onboarding based on the application landscape of the organization.
